The Primary School "Auf dem Fischerrück" Kaiserslautern

The city of Kaiserslautern in Rhineland-Palatinate is located geographically in the Western Palatinate. It has a total population of just about 100,000 inhabitants, a share of ethnic German emigrants of around 6% and a foreign population of about 11.1%. There are also about 40.000 Americans military people round Kaiserslautern.

The primary school "Auf dem Fischerrück" is situated in the west of Kaiserslautern, very close to a grrenbelt recreation area with several sport and leisure time possibilities, surrounded by the forest. Many ethnic German emigrants live in flats round the school.

Our school, built in 1973, has a gymnasium and a sports ground. There is a school garden and a playground. There are 120 pupils in 5 classes, educated by 7 teachers.

After school there is an afternoon care from twelve to four o'clock pm. The children are able to take a hot meal, do their homework, play, do arts and crafts and visit different activity and project groups. This year our project groups are based on theatre, music, football, yoga and audio listening.
