Tabasalu Gymnasium is located on the coast of northern Estonia, about 8kilometres to the west of capital Tallinn. The school was opened in 1986. Tabasalu Gymnasium is a municipal school in Harku municipality. There are three comprehensive schools in Harku municipality, of which Tabasalu Gymnasium is the biggest: in 35 classes there are 777 students and 66 teachers work in the school.

The number of students has been growing in recent years. Students from Harku municipality as well as from Tallinn study in Tabasalu Gymnasium. The school has a canteen which is used for having lunch breaks. There are evening classes for students who live far from school and bus service that caters for student`s needs.
