Peculiarity of the school

We teach students aged from seven to thirteen. Pupils from seven to nine are taught so called integrated skills and English, whereas the older students have separate subjects like Polish, English, German, History, Science, Maths, Art, Technology, Computer Studies and Phisical Education. Voluntarily, the students may attend Religious Classes. Moreover, the school undertakes constant efforts to introduce new ideas into the syllabus, and, this way, successfully cope with all the challenges facing modern education. Among the features and achievements marking the peculiarity of the school we should mention :

- cooperation with The Association for Integration
We have classes integrating handicapped and healthy students. Both the groups work and play together, learning toleration and sensitivity.

- cooperation with The Innovative Schools Association
We realise several innovative educational programmes concerning mathematics, art, phisical education, foreign languages, culture and folklore. This way we are able to modernise the syllabus and make it more interesting for different groups of students. Besides, we aim to respect individual students needs in everyday work, realising special programmes for clever and talented students and for students with certain problems as well.

- title of "Self- learning School"
Since May, 2007 we have had the very honourable title. The Centre of Civic Education in Poland, conferring the title on the school, appreciated all the efforts to improve our work through better cooperation with parents and teaching changes.

- title of "Health Promoting School"
We were awarded the title in June, 2007 after a few years' hard effort. During the work we tried to free the school environment from harmful factors and promote a healthy lifestyle as well.

- experience in cooperation with foreign schools
Since 2000 our school has been realising educational projects within a frame of the European programme Comenius. From 2000 to 2007 we took part in the following projects:
    - "You, me and Europe"
    - "Euro- history of the money"
    - "A tree called Europe" (in the cooperation with schools from Germany, France, Estonia, Lithuania and Slovenia)
    - "Europe - a journey"
    - "Outside-school places of learning"
    - "4 elements"
    - "The Children Literature" (in the cooperation with Germany, France, Estonia, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Slovenia) What is more, in 2006, we realised an eTwinning project titled "The fire brigade" in the cooperation with Germany and since 2007 we have been working on a project "Our differences, our similarities" in the cooperation with France.

The latest project we have been realising in the co- operation with Germany, France, Italy, Estonia and Luxembourg is "4 seasons".
